1. Preparation
Turn off power at the wall and isolate the unit.
Lay down plastic or a washable drop-sheet under the indoor head.
Set up a drain bag or catchment for rinse water.
Use PPE (gloves, mask, eye protection) to avoid mould or chemical exposure.
2. Indoor Unit (Head Unit)
Remove filters – wash with warm water and mild detergent.
Remove front panel and plastic covers carefully.
Inspect the coil and fan barrel for dirt, mould, and slime.
Apply coil cleaner or GandoAir-approved biodegradable detergent.
Allow dwell time (≈ 5 min).
Rinse with low-pressure sprayer until clear water runs off.
Clean fan barrel using a long-bristle brush or powered soft rinse gun.
Spray antibacterial treatment on coil, barrel, and drain tray.
Check drain line for blockages; flush if needed.
Dry and re-assemble once clean.
3. Outdoor Condenser Unit
Disconnect power at isolator switch.
Remove top grille and fan guard.
Vacuum or brush coils to remove dust, leaves, and insects.
Flush coils with garden hose (gentle spray, not high pressure).
Inspect fins – straighten bent ones with a fin comb.
Check electrical terminals, insulation, and mounts.
Ensure unit is level and clear of debris at least 30 cm all around.
4. Final System Test
Restore power.
Run the unit in cooling and heating modes.
Check for:
Correct airflow
No odours
Smooth drain operation
Stable pressures and temperatures
Wipe down exterior and remove protective plastic.
